THE LONDON PRACTICE

Psychotherapy and Coaching

ALEX NEUMANN

Gestalt Psychotherapist and Coach

About me and my work

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist and the founder of the London Practice. The therapeutic approach I trained in is called Gestalt therapy, a humanistic approach, which explores our present experiences in order to better understand the various coping mechanisms we have learned over time, and which may need to be 'updated', as they can sometimes get in our way now.

By becoming more aware of how we are contributing to our current situation, relationships and problems, and accepting ourselves more fully as we are now, we become more choiceful and able to change.

To read more about what kind of themes people have found my work helpful for, continue to Coming For Therapy.

I try to meet you from one human being to another, rather than treat or analyse you in the medical sense. I will work slightly differently with each client -what you will get is me, in relation to you and what you bring, rather than a fixed approach or school of thought. I work with a focus on creative ways of coming to new insights and actionable practices for you to get the most out of your therapy process.

The best way you can contribute to this yourself is by sharing as openly and honestly as you can, your thoughts, feelings, doubts, fears, hopes or reservations toward me, the therapeutic process or anything that we discuss.

Background and training

I have been working with adults as well as young people and children, in private practice, schools and within the NHS London since the beginning of my training in 2020.

In addition to my training as a Gestalt Psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute, I have trained as a Systemic Couple's Counsellor and as a Relational Supervisor, with some extra training in Constellations for Teams and Coaching for Organisations.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical frameworks. I am also a full member of the European Association for Gestalt Psychotherapy (EAGT).

As a therapist, I primarily work with individuals or couples and sometimes with several members of a family together (eg. parents and children).

As a coach I work with (co-)founders, leaders and their teams and individuals who want to explore and develop themselves, and the culture they are creating together.

Languages

Having grown up in Germany, studied and lived in England, and spent several years working in Spain, I speak German, English and Spanish fluently. I offer therapy and coaching only in German or English, but you or your partner can also speak to me in Spanish.

Session information and fees

Please note: I currently work exclusively online with UK clients.

For individual clients - We will initially book an exploratory session (via Zoom), to talk about your reasons for coming to see me, hopes for therapy and how we might work together and/or if another path or approach is better suited for you.

This session is without commitment, and is free of charge if we do not decide to work together after that, otherwise it will be charged as our first session.

The fee for a 50-minute individual session is £85.

For couples the process is slightly different. Please email me including your partners name and email address and I will let both of you know what the next steps would look like, so you can then decide together.

The fee for a 90-minute couple’s session is £145.
